CAMP FACILITIES: We have 48 modern air-conditioned cabins, a dining hall to fit our entire camp in one seating, rec hall, covered basketball courts and hockey rink, 8 basketball courts, 12 tennis courts, a heated outdoor pool, two private lakes, an indoor theatre and social hall, our own private golf course, outdoor adventure ropes course and high climbing wall with high elements. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Tyler Hill has a full CIT program for campers entering the 11th grade. We provide unique and exciting leadership training, community service programs and travel and outdoor opportunities, in addition to our already full camp program.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Tyler Hill hosts various winter and spring get-togethers in New York, New Jersey and Florida for our campers to reunite and for new campers to connect with one another.

SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Rainbow Academy is looking for teachers, certified to teach early childhood, elementary, or special education.  We are also looking for aquatics staff -- lifeguards and swimming instructors.  Come to work and play!

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a modern dorm and two modern longhouse facilities, as well as two more rustic dorms. We have a large Dining Hall facility, and a brand new Children's Ministry Building (fit for indoor sports and recreation, as well as meeting places). Additionally, the camp has 200 privately owned cottages, three large RV lots, a large soccer field and baseball field, disc golf and mini golf courses, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a gaga ball pit. There are two tabernacles, the Main Tabernacle and Youth Tabernacle, for services. The Susquehanna River serves as a great place for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Mahaffey Camp offers a variety of programs, from summer youth camps and family camp to year-long retreats and events. Our staff is a dedicated group of people who are passionate about serving campers of all ages and leading them to a vibrant experience with God. Our mission is "to reach others with the Gospel and teach them about the Lord." Mahaffey Camp aims to be "A Christian Center for Spiritual Growth." Mahaffey Camp is a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Those who wish to be considered as Counselors or Jr. Counselors should contact the camp office promptly, as available positions fill up quickly. Counselors and Jr. Counselors are required to attend a mandatory Counselor Training weekend, held at the end of May or beginning of June. Teen Counselors and Jr. Counselors are expected to attend a youth camp of their own age group.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Mahaffey Family Camp takes place during the last full week of July every year; in 2018, the dates are July 20 through 29. Events and services are offered for all age groups throughout the 10 days. Special events include a 5k race, Motorcycle Rally, Missionary Rally, Women's Day, Children's Penny Parade, Baptismal Service, and Gospel Concert. The camp store and Dining Hall are open for meals every day, and the craft store (selling merchandise and handmade crafts to benefit camp) is open daily. Dorm Accommodations are available, as well as RV and tent sites. Different types of services are offered, including Adult morning and evening services, prayer and healing services, Teen morning and evening services, Children's ministries, and Fresh Breeze afternoon service.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Youth Camps are held in the summer, while many retreats are held throughout the rest of the year. Mahaffey offers a variety of different retreats and events, including Applefest, Quilt Retreats, Scrapbook Retreats, Men's Link, Prayer Retreat, Mother / Daughter Retreat, REPLENISH (youth winter retreat), and private horsemanship lessons. It is United Methodist affiliated, and open to all Christian denominations. Lodging ranges from luxury private rooms to family-style lodges and cozy cabins, with delicious meals for up to 350-400 guests. The Inn and Lodge have kitchens, lounges, fireplaces. Cabins have lounge/common area and 16-24 beds, mini-fridge and coffeepot/or full kitchen.

Outdoor sports facilities include basketball, volleyball, sand volleyball, baseball/softball, tennis, swimming pool, soccer, archery, shuffleboard, mountainboarding, & an 18 hole disc golf course. It is easy to step back in time while exploring the area's rich history and heritage. Jumonville Glen was the site of George Washington's first battle, and a small museum of artifacts has been preserved from the French and Indian War that followed.

In addition, the state operated an Orphan School on the property after the Civil War. The beautiful campus, 19th century stone buildings, and flagstone walkways reflect the rich past of this mountaintop, and yet still offer exceptional lodging, comfort and modern conveniences. CAMP FACILITIES: Penn State Abington is a distinguished baccalaureate campus college within a world-class, land-grant research university. All camps are held within our campus classrooms, computer labs, science labs, and athletic building. Students enjoy lunch each day in our campus cafeteria.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Penn State Abington's Kids and Teen College offers fun, enriching, and educational week-long programs for students entering grades 3 through 12. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Lee Mar is a private, sleepaway camp for children and teenagers with mild to moderate learning and developmental challenges. A structured environment, individual attention and guidance are emphasized at all times. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities PLUS academics, speech and language therapy, music and art therapy, daily living skills, and much more. We also have therapeutic horseback riding, a Zip Line and overnight trips, as well as a Junior Olympic heated pool, modern facilities and air-conditioned buildings (including cabins). CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Yesh utilizes two sets of staff; one dedicated to professional instruction for all the courses and the other devoted to the residential life of the students. CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. Our camp resides on a gently rising hillside, thus providing us with the physical basis for our motto, "The Magic on the Hill."

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

An experienced educator and visual culture historian, Dr. Romanenko specializes in Museum education, art history, American History, and object-based learning in formal and informal environments. She holds a PhD in Art History from the City University of New York and for more than 15 years teaches art history and works in Museum education. She also holds a BA in Education Sciences and has experience in research, development and implementation of educational programs for different age groups.

Alicia Mino, Art Educator, Manager of the School and Community Programs

An accomplished practicing artists and art educator, Alicia Mino received her Master’s in visual communication from the Metropolitan University of Chile, She spent fifteen years in Italy studying art history, oil painting, and sculpture. She presented in numerous art exhibitions and founded the Mates Art and Design Studio, where she taught drawing, oil/acrylic painting, and sculpture fundamentals for ten years. In 2008 Alicia moved to Philadelphia where she continues to exhibit her work and teaches art.

Lindsey Murphy, Art Educator and K-8 Program Coordinator

An art educator with over a decade of experience in the field of education, Lindsey Murphy has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology; concentration in Archaeology from Millersville University, and an Elementary Teaching Certification from Millersville University. She worked as a general education classroom teacher in the Oxford Area School District in Chester County, PA for 8 years, and has worked in PAFA’s education department over the past 11 years creating and implementing numerous museum tours and art making experiences for children and families of all backgrounds, becoming the K-8 Program Coordinator in 2019..

Melissa Hendrixson, Art Educator

Melissa Hendrixson is an artist and art educator who has worked in Museum Education for over five years. She has her Bachelor's of Fine Arts and Studio Certificate from Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has gained experience through assisting the coordination and development of various museum programming including family programs, youth art classes, and summer camps. She now works for the School and Community Partnership Program as an art educator where she develops and implements museum tours, school lessons, and community outreach programs to support student learning, parental engagement and visual literacy initiatives.

Camp SAY was established with one goal in mind – to provide children who stutter with a highly immersive and accepting summer camp experience that builds self-confidence and helps children develop the vital communication skills they need to fully express themselves without fear, bullying or ridicule.

Complementing our wide range of exciting traditional camp activities, Camp SAY provides each child with unique experiences that challenge them in a safe way, creating a strong sense of achievement and helping them confidently navigate the unique issues that children who stutter face in the everyday world.

STAFF
The staff is dedicated to creating a safe and accepting environment where every child can find their beautiful and unique voice. Approximately 80% of children return to camp. Parents and campers tell us it’s our staff and unique approach that consistently exceed expectations, making Camp SAY such a rewarding and transformative experience.

We provide an excellent Staff-to-Camper Ratio: With Camp’s leadership team, camp counselors, specialized activities staff and more, our staff-to-camper ratio is 1 staff member for every 2-3 campers. In addition, each bunk is staffed at night with at least 2 counselors for an average of 6-10 campers.

Counselors complete a comprehensive training program to support the social, emotional and physical needs of all our campers. Staff development includes leadership training and extensive information about stuttering, camper health and safety, camp philosophy, policies and procedures and much more. Additionally, Specialized Activities Staff is carefully selected based on their skills and expertise.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our cabins are nestled in the woods, on a lake, and each one has a bathroom with two sinks, two toilets, and two showers. Our dining hall is large enough to seat the entire camp, so we are able to eat all of our meals as one big family. We have a heated outdoor pool, two baseball fields, two large multi-purpose fields (soccer, football, lacrosse), 6 tennis courts, an outdoor and an indoor basketball court, a fencing room, a fitness center, an indoor floor hockey/soccer rink, a multi-room arts & crafts center, more than 10 high ropes and climbing elements, a beautiful covered theater that overlooks the lake, plenty of forest for hiking, biking, and camping, and much more.

Lake Owego Camp is owned by the Black family, who has been operating youth summer camps longer than almost anyone else. In 1931, Hughie and Selma Black founded Pine Forest Camp, which grew over the years to become a nationally recognized co-ed camp. Building on that success, Lake Owego for boys was opened in 1961, and our sister camp for girls, Camp Timber Tops, was opened in 1963.

Today, the third-generation and 4th generation leadership of Mickey and Barbara Black, and their children, Lee and Anna, carry on the family legacy, earning awards such as "Family Business of the Year" and serving as active leaders in the American Camping Association of America.

Directors John and Rachel Waszczak, Kyle Silver, Jeff Freedman and Shelly Silver have over 90 years of combined camp experience, and they work together a fantastic camp experience for each and every Lake Owego camper.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Campers going into 11th grade take part in our Counselor Assistant program, which includes opportunities to assist in teaching activities, assist in younger bunks, go on college tours to NY, MD, PA, MA, and a 2 week trip to Costa Rica. The Costa Rica trip is included in the camp tuition, and the campers will get to explorer and see the sites, go on a canopy zip-line tour, and hike around a volcano, as well as train for and put on a 1 week camp for underserved local children. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Brain Chase is a 6-week summer learning challenge disguised as a massive global treasure hunt for 2nd−8th graders. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. By building relationships, practicing open and honest communication, and empowered decision making. Our community values self-expression, compassion, cooperative leadership, and living joyfully.

Throughout every aspect of our program, campers and staff develop lifelong friends, indelible memories, and tangible skills. We grow leaders each summer who make lasting impacts on their communities, families, and the world.

Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. We are looking for staff with a range of skills and expertise including, carpentry, horse riding, arts and crafts, animal husbandry, outdoor education and organic gardening.
