Future Investor Clubs of America summer camp programs are designed to be a top quality, positive comprehensive learning experience that students will never forget. Therefore, FICA has incorporated carefully designed Financial Field Trips TM to enhance the students experience and learning process.
FICA members who have completed the Basic (BFIT), Advanced (AFIT) and or Executive Financial Intelligence Training (EFIT) curriculum receive Certificates of Completion and are eligible to participate in many fun, exciting and informative events.
CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: All Future Investor Clubs of America summer camp instructors are Certified Financial Intelligence Trainers(CFIT) having completed our training programs. In addition to industry experience, our instructors must complete 40 hours of training on how to teach each of our BFIT, AFIT, EFIT, IFIT and LFIT curriculum's.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Tennessee Teens Rock Camp (TNTRC) is a summer day camp for girls and boys ages 10-17. TNTRC's provides a conservatory style learning atmosphere in which students are immersed for one week in the art form of music and for 11 years has provided unique music programming that is accessible and engaging for young people because of its emphasis on popular music.
Students participate in instrument instruction (guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals, etc.), music industry workshops (songwriting, recording technology, photography, etc.), ensemble practice and guest artist performances. As the primary program of the camp, students form a band and learn in an ensemble setting using popular music to build music fundamentals. Students are taught how to play instruments, work together in a band, write original songs and market their bands.
At the end of the camp, the students have the opportunity to perform what they have learned during a showcase for their peers and community members.

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: The focus of Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory's camp is astronomy and space science. Campers learn about how scientists discover the secrets of the universe, from exotic black holes to the nature of light. During the week, campers are engaged in exciting hands-on educational science activities including launching rockets, working with and building electronics, and working with telescopes.

CAMP FACILITIES: Vanderbilt Dyer Observatory is located on a nine-acre hilltop in Brentwood, TN that is almost completely surrounded by Radnor Lake State Park. The dense woods that surround the Observatory allow visitors opportunities to see a multitude of wildlife including songbirds, turkeys, squirrels, and deer. The Observatory itself houses a 24” Cassegrain reflector as well as two other permanently-mounted telescopes. There are numerous exhibits throughout the observatory, a library where events such as summer camps and lectures are held, and a large brick patio in the rear where outdoor activities take place.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: An underlying philosophy of the camp program is that every child with a interest in science should have the opportunity to explore and understand the universe in which we live. The camps are led by staff outreach astronomer Dr. Billy Teets and are facilitated by seasoned volunteers with extensive knowledge in astronomy and physics, as well as high school-age counselors who serve as mentors to the camp participants.
The camp curriculum has been created by an expert team of astronomy professors, space scientists, and area science teachers. Participation in group activities builds self-confidence, problem solving ability, and social skills.

• Interact with cutting-edge research astronomers
• Learn how telescopes work, and build your own
• Safely view the dynamic surface of the Sun through a solar telescope and attend a nighttime telescope viewing
• Journey to the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL for a day-long adventure
• Learn about basic electronics, and use the knowledge to build working projects
• Construct a functioning model Hubble Space Telescope
• Make your own realistic models of comets, and learn how craters are formed
• Design and launch bottle rockets as an introduction to rocketry

BRIEF CAMP DESCRIPTION: Mr. Bond’s Science Guys announce the 2019 library summer reading programs across Tennessee, Kentucky, and Alabama. From May through July, families have the opportunity to get their kids excited about science at one of over 100 events across the South. The Science Guys have created a 45-minute show designed for the 2019 Summer Reading theme, “Space! A Universe of Stories.”

CAMP LOCATION: camp STEM is a Middle TN based STEM camp (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) founded on the principle that students want exciting, challenging, and life impacting summer STEM experiences.
CAMP FACILITIES: We operate on the campus of MTSU in Murfreesboro, Tn.
CAMP PROGRAM INFO: The camp is committed to demonstrating how STEM works in the real world by providing hands on activities in Geology, Astronomy, Aerospace, and Robotics. The camp is staffed by certified teachers on summer break. The goal of camp STEM is to engage students in hands-on activities, and to foster confidence in science, technology, engineering, and math achievement. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: To apply for a 2015 camp STEM Scholarship, complete the scholarship application information online and submit it along with your completed registration materials by Mar 1. You will be notified by March 30. Financial Aid and Scholarships are for camp STEM fees only and do not cover the cost of transportation.
YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: camp STEM now offers 4 different themed science camps and 4 weeks of inquiry-based STEM experiences. We operate a convenient summer day camp for students in grades K-6, on the campus of MTSU.
camp STEM believes that students learn best through hands-on experiences and that science learning should be both fun and memorable. Activities will be tailored to individual needs in small groups. No prior knowledge is necessary but advanced learners will also be mentally engaged through sophisticated small group discussions. Many projects are brought home by the camper after they are made. We also integrate Groovy Labs in a Box, which blends the Scientific Inquiry and the Engineering Design Process that allows children to create ingenious inventions, enhance critical problem solving skills, and have FUN!

Why camp STEM?
camp STEM provides offerings that are carefully designed to provide hands -on impact in influencing children’s attitude toward science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Kids want to have fun in the summer. We have integrated science and math with many fun and inspiring activities. Our approach allows children to investigate a STEM project while learning the underlying scientific concepts that keep them engaged.
We break the monotony of doing STEM projects all day.
What ages are the camps designed for?
Our camps are designed for rising kindergartners to sixth graders.
Are different aged children in the same camp?
Our camps are divided by grade. Camps are divided by grade K-2, 3-4, and 5-6.
Who are the camp STEM instructors?
camp STEM instructors are certified teachers on summer break. All of our instructors have experience working with elementary-aged children, and receive camp STEM specific training. The main characteristic of our instructors is that they all share a love of STEM to spark campers’ imaginations.
How do I register my child for a camp?
Depending on the location of the camp, you can register by mail, over the phone, in person, or online. On occasion, we provide on site registration assistance to our partner-hosted camps.
Note: Registration requirements, start dates, end dates, and minimum camp size may vary by location. Transportation to and the from the camp is not included.
How soon do I need to register to reserve a space for my child?
Some camps and dates fill very quickly, while some may have spaces available up to the start date. We recommend that you register as soon as possible.
What is your refund policy?
camp STEM (i.e. our online registration system, phone-in, mail), cancellations are accepted up to two weeks (14 business days) before camp starts. A 50% fee ($75.00) will apply if cancellation is not tendered beforehand.
Can I sign my child up for more than one camp?
Yes, in fact, we totally encourage it. Each camp STEM offered is completely different so your child can enjoy them all without repeating similar activities.
What is the fee for camp STEM?
All fees are $150.00. The fee covers daily snacks, lunches, and all field trips. Transportation to and from the camp is not included.
When is camp STEM offered?
camp STEM is offered every week in June to accommodate busy summer schedule’s.
Where is camp STEM held?
Murfreesboro location: On the campus of MTSU at the College of Education Building 1301 E. Main Street, Murfreesboro, TN 37130, Every week in June, 2014.
Antioch location: Global Mall at the Crossings located at 5252 Hickory Hollow Pkwy, Antioch, TN 37013, June 9-13, 2014.
SUMMER CAMP JOBS:
Volunteer as a camp STEM helper or chaperone. camp STEM welcomes families of all campers, retirees, college students, high school juniors and seniors, and community partners who support STEM. You can volunteer as a chaperone on weekly field trips or a helper at the weekly camp. You can also assist with coordinating lunch, or providing supplies and other assistance to classrooms.
If you’re interested in volunteering, please email info[AT]campSTEM.us or call us at 615-415-7963 to let us know how you can volunteer. All volunteers must pass a criminal background check where required. A background check is not required for guest speakers.
Volunteer as a guest speaker. We are constantly seeking community members who enjoy what they do to speak with our campers. Our campers are interested in discovering how STEM helped you successfully enter your field, and how your job makes a difference in the world.
